Making friends in Paris

Who I am

Bonjour,

Véronique here, or, as my friends call me, Véro [Vay-Row]

For the last two decades, in the United States and in France, I have shared my love of France and French culture as a travel blogger, French language instructor, public speaker and tour guide.

What I do

I relocated back to France in 2019; led custom private Paris tours and worked as a tour guide for Rick Steves Europe. In 2019, I spent over 100 days with visitors around Paris and France and had many adventures I have been thrilled to share with clients and in social media.

They have toured with Vero…

In their own words…

Veronique was outstanding. Her knowledge of the area was excellent, and she was very easy to talk with. She was excited about everything and that rubbed off on all of us travelers. We were lucky to have her as our guide. Dianne S.

Veronique was fantastic! She was a good listener and storyteller. I appreciate her narrative about her family history. Hearing about people’s everyday lives (as opposed to a recitation or linear account of history) gives more meaning and a better understanding of a country’s culture & history. Florence E

We are used to traveling Europe on our own via RV or car/hotel I plan. We decided to try a tour this time and Rick Steves is the only thing I’d consider. It was a fantastic choice. Veronique was an amazing tour director. The fact that she was born in France but spent many years in Seattle gave her the edge in handling a bunch of Americans in France. (…) She was just so friendly and personal. She made us feel like friends and not clients. Betsy C.

Bonjour Veronique. Thank you for everything!  I continue to have ‘Tears of Joy,’ whenever I think about our tour.  We are likely to do another Rick Steves tour because of you. Using an American sports metaphor, you hit a homerun and we were a part of it. Our Best, Roger and Peggy.

Enough bragging. You get the point: I know my stuff. I work hard (yet make it all look easy.) I am friendly. I will show you France and a good time.

You can still tour with Véro!

Like millions of people around the world working in the tourism industry, I lost all my tour guiding missions overnight following the COVID 19 outbreak. So long, Rick Steves Europe tour members! So long, private clients, Paris neighborhood and French immersion tours!

Not so fast! My clients can’t come to France for now, so I bring France to them. These days, I focus on doing what I do best: sharing quality, exclusive content on Paris and France, via articles, pictorial travelogues, live streamed events and videos.

Tour with Véro… on YouTube!

How often do you get to look at France and French culture through the eyes of a native? Tour with Véro on my YouTube channel where I share favorite guided walks, and, as of the summer of 2020, more of my France travels. Some videos are snippets of my Parisian life; others are extended guided walks through the French capital, complete with iconic sights and just the right amount of commentary on history and French culture. There’s more: I live-stream weekly from favorite (and lesser-known) corners of Paris in my Facebook community. Join the fun! Bienvenue!

Coming soon: Zoom virtual tours

This summer, I plan to offer hour-long virtual tours on Zoom. Each tour will be followed by a Q&A. What a wonderful way to use all the great photos I have captured during my travels over the last few years! What a perfect opportunity to draw on my experience as a teacher, tour guide and public speaker to continue sharing my love of France!

Join la Mailing List to hear the news first. Registration will be limited to 20 participants per session to allow for quality interactions.

Famous last words…

I create new Paris and France content with love every week and publish it for free in social media. This is my new job, and I love it. It’s also a (small) business. I need to finance the cost of running my website and all my online activities, and create new income streams: Please consider joining other enthusiastic travelers and francophiles who support me on Patreon: For a small membership each month (different levels are available,) you will help finance my creative endeavors AND enjoy exclusive rewards (exclusive content and live events.) If you don’t care for memberships, one-time donations go towards the cost of filming guided tours, and are gratefully accepted here: On Paypal to @veroniquesavoye@gmail.com, On Venmo, from your phone, @Veronique-Savoye
