Bonjour, After a few days at home in Tours, I ar Bonjour, After a few days at home in Tours, I arrived in Paris today to lead my 10th tour of the season for @ricksteveseurope What a wild ride the last few months have been! How many fun encounters it’s led to (and a few more headed my way as I welcome a new group of North American travelers on Tuesday.) I haven’t given up on virtual touring and hope you’ve enjoyed the adventures I shared over the summer, including a brand new tour of a surprising Parisian neighborhood, la Butte aux Cailles, on Sunday (link in Bio.) Too busy traveling to watch now? That’s all right. Trips do end, sadly. Virtual tours remain. Et oui. With over 200 video tours, the France with Vero YouTube channel awaits whenever you miss la Belle France and want to get transported back in the blink of an eye… When I wasn’t leading Rick Steves groups around the country or filming new virtual tours this month, I was lucky to meet in person France with Vero patrons in my city, Tours (Patrons get special discounts on half-day city tours.) How special it’s been for me to introduce them to the rich history of Tours, secret corners of the Loire Valley, and share some of my favorite landmarks, squares, and eateries in town! I am humbled so many followers of mine have added Tours (an under-rated French city) to their itineraries in 2022. Who needs to “influence?”Better to inspire (travel) dreams, I say. 😉 — and what better guide than a French native in love with her city and homeland who’s also a passionate teacher? Merci à Lisa, Kurt, Jennifer, Bob, Debbie and Cindy for your enthusiasm and your support. May you continue enjoying your travels in this beautiful country of mine. Jeanne-la-Cane is part of the trip this time. Tour members will get to meet her when we board that big bus and head to the “Heart of France” later this week. Grateful I could spend quality time pre-tour with my dear friend (and fellow tour guide) Lily Heise (@jetaimemeneither) When I want to get introduced to great Parisian eateries, I always ask Lily to pick the place. I’d say @lebonlabutte was a terrific choice! Of course it doesn’t hurt Lily has lived in Montmartre for years and knows the neighborhood like the back of her hand! Bag is packed.
